Day 260: Jakey Update

We have been home for two weeks and are still getting adjusted to our “new normal”.  And since the dust has settled a little bit, Jake has become a little discouraged. He thought he would be walking on his own by the time he left the hospital and feels the world is passing him by. I get it, I do! So we are trying to keep his mind as well as his body working hard so there is little time for discouragement.

Jake has had numerous therapy appointments and even more doctor appointments and has even started college.

His EMG showed “abnormalities” in his left arm so we are getting a Brachial Plexus MRI and a consultation and more extensive EMG with Neurology next week.

His new therapists had really big shoes to fill, but so far so good. My only concern is that he doesn’t get his therapy everyday like we were used to at HealthBridge. So we are looking into a couple of other outpatient facilities to help.

And Jake is taking a class at Fullerton College. We tried to get one on campus but we were so late in registering that all the classes were already waitlisted. Luckily we found an online class that fits perfectly into his crazy schedule.

I’ve felt “off” not posting an update everyday and realized it was probably was more for me than anyone else. But here it is anyways! We are so thankful for the continued support and love we are continuously getting. Thanks for checking in on us and please know your prayers for Jacob are appreciated. ❤️❤️❤️
