Journal entry by Christie Colpaert —
Jacob was brought home from the hospital on Thursday!
He will be greatly missed by the hospital staff, a nurse even came in on her day off to wish him well.
His determination and perseverance have attributed to this great milestone; along with the intercession and prayers from the community.
Jacob found going home bittersweet. It was definitely good to be in the comfort of his home, however, a part of his physical former home is no longer present. Jeremy's presence is definitely felt in spirit and has been his armor and guardian angel in this journey.
Jacob is extremely grateful for the tremendous love and support of the community. He read letters/cards from friends and family today. He especially loved seeing his dogs (Jameison and Journey) again.
He enjoyed dinner and was in bed by 7pm.
He will be continuing therapies at home and adjusting to this new chapter in his recovery!
"Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth." Jeremiah 33:6
Although Jacob is doing astoundingly well and appears to have returned to the Jacob we all know, love, and cherish his activity and stimuli still must remain minimal as if his brain is overstimulated he is at risk for seizures and mental duress along with other complications. With his progress thus far it is hopeful he will be able to engage, visit, and use electronics more in the next few months.
