Jackson Clair’s Story

Site created on May 7, 2023

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

As many of you know Jackson hasn’t been feeling himself for the last few weeks. On April 27, 2023 we received news that no parent ever wants to hear. Jackson has a mass growing on his left adrenal gland, with some lesions in his bones- these findings are consistent with neuroblastoma. Our next step was being admitted to CHOP on Sunday April 30 for more testing / staging / port placement. The diagnosis of Neuroblastoma was confirmed and staged as High Risk level. Jackson had his first treatment on Friday May 5. While we are devastated with this news we are trusting in the doctors to come up with a treatment plan, and know Jackson is a fighter and has a huge army behind him. Please pray for us 🤍

Newest Update

Journal entry by Dave Fisher

From Chrissy……. Jackson is opening his eyes on his own, occasionally giving us a thumbs up, and pointed to Joey and I. After the last 9 days these have meant absolutely everything to us. He had a repeat CT & MRI this morning showing nothing new, and what they would expect to see after a bleed and hydrocephalus , the swelling is going down and the bleeding is getting better. They have been able to get a lot of fluid off of him, we have paused dialysis for the day to see what his kidneys do, knowing that there’s a chance he’ll need to go back on the circuit. From a stem cell transplant perspective he is engrafting! His ANC is 940, and his white blood cells are climbing up. The team is hoping to extubate him in the next 24-72 hours, he had a “CPAP” trial this morning and did amazing. Jackson has an incredibly long road ahead of him, and this is just the beginning of his recovery but these small things are letting us know that our spunky sweet boy is still in there and fighting so hard to come back to us! 🤍
