3 years? How is that possible!?

3 years ago today was the worst day of my life. The day that i would heard the words that would change my life forever.

"I'm sorry, but your son has cancer"

I remember feeling numb, not knowing how to function.

The call came in before 9 am and by 6 pm that same day, we had whisked Jack to Madison and he had undergone a bone marrow biopsy, CT scan, lumbar puncture, PICC line placement, multiple X-rays, and his first dose of chemo.

We had met an amazing group of doctors and nurses who would forever be held in our hearts as the heroes that saved Jack's life. Dr. Matt, our personal favorite human, has become so much more than just a doctor. For 3 years now, he has offered kind, calm support, rational thinking when all reason had left my head, and the best hugs a broken momma could ask for.

Our friends, family, and community surrounded us with love and support. Words escape me to describe what these acts of kindess have meant to me and our family. (I know, right!? Me? Speechless?)

We have celebrated so many victories over these past  3 years. While the worry will never fade, we can go forward stronger and thankful for every day. Thankful for every argument about wearing a coat to school.  Thankful for every baseball that loudly THUNKS off the vehicle. Thankful for every purberty-riddled mood swings. Thankful that this beautiful boy is with us and cancer-free.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us over these past 3 years.
