Journal entry by Bill Schwartz

Wow, how amazing is medical science?

For some of you reading, you may have seen a text message or perhaps word of mouth in one way or another.  Earlier today, Jacki and I saw the MD Anderson Lymphoma team and her oncologist.  They asked her tons of questions and shared with her several documents from testing the day before.

It is with a great sense of relief and gratitude to share with all of you the terrific results.  There are no longer any signs of active cancer in her lymphatic system!  Her blood results are all very good or trending in the right direction following the course of treatment, and there were no signs of side effects to her heart.  One of the doctors showed us the scans, essentially slice-by-slice!

Going forward... scans in 3mos, 3mos, 6mos, 6mos...  Piece of cake!

Now it is time for Jacki to focus on her healing and recovery - regain her energy, her sense of taste (she's slowly introduced metal silverware into her routine!), planned menu's, walking / exercise, COVID booster, Flu shot, lots of water and electrolytes.  She still needs to be smart, careful, and cautious out there for several more months, but certainly the worst is behind her now.

A huge thanks to everyone out there for all, any, every thing you have done for Jacki by way of calls, texts, posts, meals, prayers, support, love, etc.  She couldn't have done without all of you.  And the same from me.

There was a ceremonious Ringing of the Bell a few weeks ago after her last Chemo treatment.  But, while I really loved it, there were some "technical" difficulties with the bell, so I have been forbidden from posting it - I actually do not even have the clip, so if someone knows her iPhone password, let me know.

Until next time... (I don't know when, but perhaps at these next scan milestones I will share outcomes).  Besides this, I am VERY optimistic this page will become much more boring and quiet!

Patients and caregivers love hearing from you; add a comment to show your support.
