Happy Mother’s Day!
We had a nice quiet day at home with both sets of our parents dropping by to visit. The kids got in the pool, Eric and Brody cleaned up my vegetable garden area. It is looking better than I ever had it on my own! Ready for planting in the near future. I rested in the shade and drank my water. I was definitely in supervisor mode today! The kids and Eric have been such an amazing support for me through all of this. I am so blessed by them.
Yesterday I planted a few planters with flowers. We had a wonderful morning visit from Al & Terry as they were heading through our area to complete their ride today. More info here: give.bcrf.org/pp4ac2024 We are looking forward to visiting them at the lake this summer. I look forward to the day where I can transition from warrior to survivor!
I had my first round of my new treatment plan on Friday. Everything went as planned and I had one of my favorite nurses, Jill. I didn’t feel like myself already on Friday night. I slept most of the night and napped yesterday afternoon. My “not myself symptoms” are similar to last time so far. Tight chest, scratchy voice, flush face, a little headache, a little queasy but eased with some food. I also take Claritin to help with bone soreness.
I am not sure what the next few days will bring but I am ready to find out and I have my anti nausea meds ready if needed. Last round I felt normal until day 3/4. This time it started right away so I am wondering if it will be worse as time goes on or get better. Either way I will be moving forward!
I am hopeful I will feel up to spending all afternoon there but only time will tell. Until then, one day at a time!
