Jackie’s Story

Site created on November 14, 2020

In early November Jackie went to the doctor after experiencing unusual back and hip pain and having a slight cough for a few weeks.  She thought she would just go to the chiropractor when the pain subsided, but then she found a lump in her breast. Her plans changed quickly to go see her doctor. She had a CT scan done because her doctor suspected she had a blood clot in her lung. We would have never imagined getting the shocking and devastating news we did after that. The scan showed multiple masses in different parts of her body, which likely indicated some kind of metastatic cancer. Her PET scan revealed masses in her lung, breasts, lymph nodes, and bone. After one long week of waiting, she was diagnosed with stage IV adenocarcinoma of the lung based on her lung fluid. However the breast biopsy revealed high grade poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma of unknown primary, which is her current diagnosis. We have been so grateful for the outpouring of love and support from family and friends.  We will be using this site to keep family and friends updated in one place. Thank you for all of your prayers!

Hello,

We haven’t posted anything for a long time.  What I know for sure is that this cancer is not kind and ever changing.  One day you have a scan and it comes back encouraging and a few days later you find masses by yourself.  It’s so hard to keep up!

Tuesday I will begin a first line chemo treatment again since my body responded well to it before.  The chemo will be a different combination but still a first line treatment.  So praying it will bring me back to “No evidence of disease” and not too many more side effects!

God has blessed us this summer with numerous camping trips with friends and family.  Many laughs and memories made!  Our immediate family also ventured to Glacier National Park in Montana.  It was so beautiful and wonderful being all together!

Thank You for all the continued prayers and well wishes💗
