Hey everyone! 

What a crazy 2017! Been awhile since I’ve posted once I had my lumpectomy August 22nd, which then made me CANCER FREE! Yes! Remission! I AM IN REMISSION! Oh my goodness, how awesome! To think I received the news of Stage 4 Breast Cancer on Feb 1st and cancer free as of August 22nd, I am one lucky girl! My family and I are so thankful for everyone praying for me, sending positive thoughts and so much more! It’s unbelievable to say the least!

Now, however, I am starting radiation this Tuesday at the Northwestern Proton Center in Warrenville, IL. It’s right outside of Naperville. I will be doing radiation Monday thru Friday for 6 weeks straight. I was not a candidate to receive radiation here in Peoria due to the placement of the areas I need treated. However, the reoccurrence rate is 6% better doing proton therapy vs basic radiation for my specific case, so I am totally fine with traveling for treatment. It will be a long winter driving back and forth everyday, but I can’t wait to start off 2018 so much healthier!
