Jack’s Story

Site created on August 31, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Jack was in a car crash the morning of Saturday, August 29th, that left him in the ICU with a shattered pelvis, fractured mandible, broken arm, and other internal injuries. Jack will require multiple surgeries and extensive rehabilitation and physical therapy, but we know that he and our family are blessed with wonderful friends and a supportive community throughout his road to recovery.

While Jack is in the ICU, we will be reading him the words of support and positive affirmations that people post on this site.

Journal entry by Devin Gary

Jack began his second reconstructive surgery on his pelvis at about 7:00 this morning and they finished at around  12:00. Everything went very smoothly, which we are very thankful for. Dr. Davis, Jack’s awesome orthopedic surgeon,  hopes that this will be his last surgery for the pelvis. Today, he is being taken out of the ICU and moved into a normal room in the hospital. We will miss his ICU nurses, Chandler & Gabby, and wanted to give them a special shout-out. Tomorrow, Jack’s team of doctors will begin helping him get out of bed and start moving around!
