Journal entry by Christina Locandro

June marks the start of not just a new month for us, but a new chapter in this life and Jack’s rigorous treatment plan. Yesterday just before 6pm, Jack’s nurse popped her head in to let me know our oncologist had received the final pathology report...Our Baby is CANCER FREE!!! I have cried more happy tears since hearing this news than I have sad tears all month since his diagnosis. Thank you, God, for healing our boy. And thank you, dear friends and family, for the countless prayers, encouraging texts, meals for our family, gifts/activities for the kids, and every ounce of love and support you have shown us during the worst month of our lives.

Upon diagnosis just 4 weeks ago, over 90% of the cells in Jack’s bone marrow were leukemia cells. Yesterday, they found none. We are overwhelmed with gratitude and joy and hope for the future. It is a long road ahead still, 2 years and 1 more month of treatment to be exact, but we’ve made it through the worst part, and with these results, Jack has a 95% prognosis for success with this for life!  We pray for minimal discomfort as he continues the chemo/meds, and we pray that he remains in remission for the rest of his long, healthy life.

Thank you for following along and lifting our baby in your prayers. They’re working!
