Wow! It's hard to believe it is already almost Thanksgiving, and yet, it feels like this year has stretched on longer than most.

I wanted to share a quick update on dad. It has been 7 months now since he was transferred home from Courage Kenny, and he continues to take steps forward in his recovery through occupational and physical therapy. He has even joined a local YMCA and swims three times a week. In October, he was accepted into an Intensive Aphasia 4 week program through North Memorial to address his persistent cognitive and speech issues. I'm proud to say that dad graduated the program on Friday (Nov 15th) and we've definitely seen improvement in both his vocabulary and his cognition.

In parting, here is a special thank you message dad wrote back in August that he'd asked me to share with you all. I apologize for the delay in sharing it.
"I want to thank you all very much for keeping me in your prayers the last 7 months.  I spent a week in Methodist Hospital, 4 weeks at Courage Kenny @ Abbott Northwestern Hospital, & 8 weeks at Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute-Transitional Rehab Program .  Physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy are on-going.  I have trouble saying simple [phrases].  Spelling is arduous.  I expect [a] full recovery eventually." - (August 9, 2019)

As dad continues to work toward recovery, we will try to post here every few months to keep you all updated on his progress.

Thank you all again for your continued prayers. Wishing you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving!
