Please continue to keep Izzy in your thoughts and in your prayers (Yisroel Alter ben Chava Chana), as the power of our collective prayers can hopefully continue to penetrate the heavenly gates of mercy!

The Jewish holiday of Shavuot (click on link: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shavuot ), commences at sundown this evening, which is observed by devoutly practicing Jews, heralding from across the entire vast globe. The focal point of the holiday is to commemorate and reenact the Jewish people becoming a nation, by eagerly accepting the Omnipotent G-d’s Torah, and their agreement to comply by its 613 written Commandments, in addition to observing the thousands of additional heavenly directives , which are extrapolated within the Oral Torah scriptures, based upon the subtle interpretations of the underlying commandments,  stated in the biblical primary commandments. There exists a prevalent custom, within observant Jewish communities,  to spend the entire night of Shavuoth in the synagogue 🕍 Torah study halls, steeped in Intense Torah  study, in commemoration of the Jewish nation of yesteryear’s acceptance to comply with G-d’s commencements, both those overtly stated, in addition to those laws which are latently alluded to within the Omnipresent G-d’s  Bible. Additionally, it is a night whereby we individually and collectively recommit ourselves towards living a life that is predominantly Torah-centric.

For those who intend to proverbially burn the midnight oil, and remain awake and alert enough to engage in productive Torah Study, a word that becomes synonymous with Shavuoth night is “caffeine“, or similar substitutes, which provide electrolytes or other stimuli that energize the body. In previous years, I always concern myself with procuring food/drink, that will fuel the body to offset the sleep deprivation, in order to remain awake and alert, so the night can be spent not playing an axiomatic game of beat the clock, but actually accomplishing a Torah study evening of spiritual enrichment. However, this year it has become known to me that there are those Rabbis who advocate that the Torah study accomplished during the days preceding the Shavuoth holiday, and during s Shavuoth night in particular, effect the efficacy, that one’s Torah studies will accomplish throughout the upcoming year. Given that the spiritual prong conbatting against the formidable demons of Leukodystrophy, as I feverishly attempt to sustain Izzy’s tangible presence upon this earth, centers around Torah Study, and beseeching the Omnipotent G-s via prayer, this year I have dedicated myself  to procuring the proverbial, spiritual electrolytes, in addition to those that physically impact the body.

My local synagogue, congregation, Me’or Yisroel, under the facilitation, guidance, and leadership, of Shmueli Schonberger Shlita, has a created a Torah study initiative, which commenced during this past Saturday afternoon, and concludes during the outgoing holiday gathering, as the holiday ebbs away, whereby in study partnership groups of two, we have selected a small tractate from the Talmudic Oral Law “Gemara” (Click on Link:  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oral_Torah ), and aspire to complete it, in its entirety throughout “the six days of Shavuoth” (Click on Link to review the CaringBridge blog from Jun-07-2024: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/izzyzundellsjourney/journal/view/id/6663732dc3b59928bcb3e32a ). I stalwartly purport that increasing my focus upon the quality and quantity of my Torah study will presumably bode well in respect to my efforts regarding the spiritual prong of the perennial battle against the homicidal disease 🦠 of Leukodystrophy. At this juncture, I commenced a six day religious sprint, intended to procure as many spiritual electrolytes as I could potentially garner on behalf of Izzy. I spent an unprecedented nearly 7 hours engaged in Torah Study on my weekend Sunday, and have increased my evening Torah Study, throughout these immediate three days leading up to  Shavuoth night when I intend to utilize my additional spiritual electrolytes,by engaging in Torah Study throughout the night. However, in contrast to previous years, where the Shavuoth marathon completed upon sunrise, I intend to spend an additional two hours of continued Torah study 📚, both tomorrow and Thursday afternoon , completing the tractate in unison with my study partner, in the hopes that it will be deemed meritoriously upon Izzy‘s behalf, within the proverbial eyes of the Almighty G-d, as it pertains to his continued sustenance of his tenuous life.

A six day spiritual  marathon,
In the hopes that it will benefit Izzy exponentially
