Newest Update

Journal entry by paula Johnson

Hello all! Just an update Iver and I went to Fargo last weekend to the neurologist appointment and got lucky and got in to have Ivers nerve conduction Study done The same day. The news we got wasn’t our best news as the Dr. said after 6 months you should have about 90% of what you will end up with as far as function and after a year that’s as much as you will get. I’m not believing in that however since I’ve had surgeries that have taken more than a year to heal with a lesser injury by far than Ivers so I’ve had to let go of that information and we’re leaving it up to god! Anyway his diagnosis is radial nerve palsy which lets him have regular use of his arm but the wrist just hangs down and he can make a fist but there is no flexion outward happening since that is the radial nerve’s job so please keep him in your prayers to heal that nerve! On the upside he can adapt to catch a ball so I’ve got him starting to train in basketball next week again he’ll be so glad to play!! Also signed him up for “school basketball “ which starts after Christmas his brace that his amazing OT gal built for him allows the turn movement of his wrist to be able to catch the ball (which we don’t know if he’ll be able to wear it in games or not as it may be considered a weapon) but at least he’s getting back on the court with the buddies he loves!! We see a physical medicine rehab dr. In Bismarck in the end of February so we’ll just keep in keeping on till then but for now just so greatful to be this great only 4 months out!! And so blessed with all of your prayers thank you all!! Xoxo
