David’s Story

Site created on September 2, 2023

In August of this year, David was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. As you may or may not know, he already beat cancer before - Hodgkin's lymphoma - when he was in high school and he is ready for another fight.

As a husband, father of four, teacher, coach, mentor, and more, David can often be found encouraging others to live their best lives and pushing people to the next level. And now is our opportunity to do the same for him. His prognosis is good, but the journey ahead will have its share of challenges and we can use your support along the way - through prayers, good energy, and more. Every victory begins somewhere and so here we are - It's Day One.

Journal entry by Samantha Schultz

During cycle 4, DJV came down with the flu, but a trip to the emergency room, got him some antibiotics and Tamiflu and it warded off any major sickness. Thanksgiving was moved a few days later and the family hosted 27 people! Cycle 5 was just administered last week!

The 6th and final treatment takes place the day after Christmas which means DJV will be at his healthiest on Christmas. How cool is that!? A little immunotherapy will take place to start 2024, but he will be well on his way to full recovery!!
