This community has done the Relay for Life for many years to support the American Cancer Society, and they will have one on May 16. We read in the local weekly that Rachel Baptist Church was having a breakfast this past Saturday to raise funds for their Relay for Life team.  We went and enjoyed a good breakfast.  They also had a bake sale and we left with a sweet potato pie.  The church members explained they had lost several of their members to breast cancer, and some of their other members had been treated for it.  Rachel Baptist is an old church a few miles out of town.  Some of the custodians who had worked at our school were members, and we had taught the children of some of the members who were there.  They were very proud of their team's usually raising the first or second highest amount of funds for the Relay.  They raised more than $12,000 their best year.  We were amazed at their commitment.
