Joshua’s Story

Site created on May 19, 2023

In May 2023 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma.  After chemotherapy and a CAR T-cell infusion failed to cure the cancer, we were about to begin clinical trials when everything failed and cancer entered my kidneys. There is no plan now, just day-to-day hope and seeing what we do to keep me alive a little bit longer. God has a purpose even for difficulties, and as long as I live I look to serve his purposes   We are using CaringBridge to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Journal entry by Mary Helen Bush

Dear friends and family,
It seems the time has arrived to end these posts. Thank you for traveling this very hard journey with Josh and all of us who love him. Your prayers and messages have held us up in the hardest of times. Life without him on earth, in our sight, in our arms, in our physical presence hurts daily. We know we have to walk this part of the journey with mixed feelings. Some days are harder than others.

If you didn't get a chance to post a message on the Kudo board, we will be closing that also by January 29. Below is the link if you feel moved to respond.

If  you would like to leave a thought, impression, memory or message, please go to the following:

Thank you again from all of us. We hope that by taking this journey with Josh we will all be inspired to live life well.

Blessings,
Mary Helen for the family
