Liz’s Story

July 14, 2018
Welcome to my story.  I was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer in June of 2018.  I wasn't totally shocked, but really disappointed.  My father, uncle and an aunt passed from this cancer. After having Whipple surgery, half my pancreas taken,  gallbladder,  one tumor and 17 lymph nodes and a biopsy...I got the news. My stomach and heart sunk. After a few expletives,  I decided to take control and opted to beat this cancer. I'm  too young and i have young grandchildren to love on, children, husband,my parents and close friends and family.
I am blessed by a superb health team and supportive family and friends.
I start my chemo on the 23rd of this month. I'm not scared, but anxious.

Journal entry by Elizabeth Vallandingham

I am cancer free! I have to come back every month for a port flush until July. In July, one more ct to check things. If nothing has changed, the port comes out and I'm free! 😁
