Newest Update

Journal entry by April Gill

Of Dexamethazone and Velcade. The Dex, I have to take 10 pills in the morning of my shot, they have the most awful after taste and then as the day goes in it makes me feel a little nauseous.  Last week the Velcade made me sick, but so far today it hasn't..YAY.  On Tuesday I will start another drug called revlamid. My numbers are changing ever so slowly so maybe starting the Revlamid they might change more. I hope so, because we're aiming for a Stem Cell Transplant in 4-6 months. I'm a little nervous about that, but hoping for remission after that. Because there is no cure, who knows how long my remission will last but I am not ready to give up yet and have too many years of life left with my family.

Nobody really understands what getting cancer is really like until you experience it. Everyone has love and good intentions and it's so appreciative. Never did I ever think it would happen to me, especially a cancer I had never heard of. I mean come on, what in the world is Multiple Myeloma?!  God has something for me to learn from this.

So this really wasn't an exciting update, but a blog of sorts to note my status and keep track of my experience, thoughts and feelings. Thanks for the read :)
