Update from Jackie:
Hudson's nurse practitioner just called us and Hudson's blood culture, as well as his breathing tube culture, came back positive for a bacterial infection. The good news is both can be treated with antibiotics and she is not worried. She said he is currently stable and was also stable all night which shows that they caught both infections in the early stages which makes them both easier to treat.
He is starting a round of antibiotics today and will be on them for 7 days. It should treat both infections- blood and lung. She did say they have to do a spinal tap to test to see if he has meningitis. She said if that comes back positive then they will extend the antibiotics for 21 days.
She said his body is capable of fighting off both infections with the antibiotics. Brent and I are both thankful that they caught it in the early stages and are able to treat but sad that Hudson has two serious infections. Please pray for healing over his body and for strength as he fights both infections off. Please also pray the meningitis test comes back negative. Lastly, please pray for his doctors and nurses as they treat and care for Hudson during this time.
