Hi All, 

Things are going very well!  Holly started back at work this week, and while it was certain to be overwhelming, her team has really been awesome covering for her and helping her settle back in.  

She's been going in for follow-up pretty much 1x per week in preparation for the reconstruction.  She has tissue expanders under her skin where the implants will go.  They have ports to incrementally fill up to create the necessary room after so much tissue was removed from the mastectomy.  She also still has a drainage port on each side.  Every week they do a little draining and a little expanding.  Based on her discussions from the visits, we think we are about 4-6 weeks out yet from her reconstruction surgery.  It's another waiting game, you want it to be over but things just take time.

We are obviously very happy and blessed that Holly is cancer-free now.  And Although it doesn't feel like it at the moment, her final surgery will be here before we know it and we'll be in the final stages of recovery.

Holly is very much looking forward to feeling and being back to "normal".  Like, being able to sleep on her stomach "normal" - she's a tummy sleeper 😂
