Journal entry by Hollie St. Germain

Hello & Good Morning!
I apologize for the delay, between work and school I have been quite pre-occupied.
The last week and a half have been an uphill battle for our girl. The bleeding got increasingly worse and resulted in admission to the hospital to receive blood. Since, it has started to slow a little but still persists and the tumor has swollen making speaking difficult. She has had about one good day in terms of bleeding so we are hoping and praying this will soon stop, as it causes her a lot of nausea and discomfort.
Tuesday she received her fifth and final radiation treatment and was able to ring the bell of completion! I know this was less exciting for her as the tumor is still quite large, but I am so proud of her. Radiation was quite a challenge because it required her to put a large block of sorts in her mouth and then be strapped down by a mold of her upper body (very snug fit) and lie flat on a table for several minutes. I had the "pleasure" of going with her, and I did not even understand how she was going to stand it, but she did. I see where I inherited my fight from.
Her next IV treatment of Obdivo and Yervoy should be on 9/16.
In the meantime, we ask for prayers that the radiation does its thing and stops the bleeding and kills off the tumor (sooner than later).
As the symptoms of radiation set in (extreme fatigue/mouth ulcers) I also ask for prayers for comfort.
She still forces herself out of bed daily and has shown what it means to overcome "bad days". I have all the faith in the world that if we can move past the bleeding tumor, she will do the rest of the hard work!
Thanks for all of the love and support, we have definitely felt it and it is much appreciated <3
