Henry’s Story

Welcome to our CaringBridge site for Henry Coil. We want to use this to keep family and friends updated in one place and will provide updates as we receive them from the family. As most of you know, Henry was in an accident while at the beach on June 29th. He was transferred to Brenner's Children's Hospital that evening and underwent a successful surgery on June 30th. While he has a long road to recovery, he continues to show his strength, resilience, and love of life. The family appreciates the love and prayers that everyone is sending. Please keep them coming!

We are watching the families needs and will create a meal train once they are home. For now, the family appreciates everyone’s prayers and desire to help! More to come!

Hello everyone! 

So hard to believe it’s been 4 weeks. Henry continues to show how amazing he is and is the toughest kid we know! Being at home has been wonderful for us all and he is adjusting so well! He was so excited to be reunited with the pups and they have been so calm with him! We have had many follow-up appointments and all have given encouraging news. Especially today! X-rays showed the elbow is healing appropriately and did not need another cast put on!!! Femur X-rays showed improvement as well and we will start PT in two weeks! They cleared him to go in the pool and we hope to get his confidence up over the next week to be able to get out there! We met with the dentist last week and while that will be a long road we are grateful for the amazing team we have to guide us along. 

This experience has been one that we would never have imagined but each and every one of you have given us the strength to get through. It is hard to put into words the gratitude we have for all the love, prayers and support our family has received over the last 4 weeks. We hold you all dear to our hearts and will be forever grateful! 

Thank you to Abby Archer and Lacy Southerland for a million things, but also for keeping this site going and helping keep everyone up to date. 

While we will most likely not continue to post on this site, please feel free to reach out to us for updates, support or just to say hello!
