Hello everyone my names is Rachele

In these times of uncertainty I hate to impose and ask for your help but after long consideration and prayer I come to you for help.  My name is Rachele and my husband James was diagnosed back in January 2021 with a rare life altering foot condition known as Charcot Foot. After diagnosis he realized his work as a healthcare worker of 17 years was going to be a struggle and began treatment. We assumed he was healing and then in March he was diagnosed with a diabetic foot ulcer as well. The ulcer and Charcot Foot continued to worsen and on May 31 I had to rush him to the ER due to signs of infection. It was determined the Charcot had become infected and it infected his blood. Because of the sepsis and bone infection they did emergency surgery on his foot to remove collapsed infected bones and drain the infection. During this surgery he was told he suffered a heart attack and when he came out of surgery we also discovered both his kidneys had temporarily failed. After weeks in the hospital on IV antibiotics, temporary dialysis and prayer we are starting to see a change for the better. Unfortunately he ran out of sick pay and with out it he can not afford his insurance premiums and continued care. We have been notified by the insurance carrier they have to continue to be paid monthly until his return to work or his insurance will be terminated. He is out of work currently until November as of this date and we don’t know if the leave will be extended. I took on extra hours to try to make sure we continue to push forward but now this new issue of insurance has hit us hard. They have said in this letter that premiums have to be paid monthly or the insurance will be terminated. We really need help at this point. We felt the loss of income to pay our normal expenses could be over come by me working extra hours but working extra is also becoming a struggle with me taking him daily for wound care and treatments. So I come to you asking for any assistance you can spare to help us keep his healing going. Any help you provide will be used to pay insurance premiums until his return to work, medical cost and other necessities needed to continue his healing. I thank you for your time, considerations and prayers & blessings.

Regards

Rachele
