Hello, friends and family,
Thank you so much for your ongoing prayers and kind words on Caring Bridge. It means so much to Daniel and me to know you are praying.
I had a meeting yesterday and was told I have one week remaining for my educational plan for my residency. After this week, it will be determined if I will be released from orientation to be an independent nurse on the unit or be severed from employment.
This has been a hard and humbling experience. It is also an uncertain time with so many unknowns, and I am tempted to focus on the uncertainty and the anxious feelings that the uncertainty brings. But during my "lunch breaks" during night shifts, I often recharge by reading in the Psalms. I have been camping out in Psalm 16 and have been coming back to it over and over since I am so encouraged by these comforting words:
LORD, you have assigned me my portion and my cup;
you have made my lot secure.
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
surely I have a delightful inheritance.
I will praise the LORD, who counsels me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
I have set the LORD always before me.
Because he is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.
(NIV, '84)
I am thankful for how God is working in this situation even though we may not see how. I am thankful for His guidance and love for us. I am thankful for Daniel, this good man who God has provided to journey with me. He takes it all in stride and doesn't panic for a moment; he keeps propping me up at home so I can go back out and face the challenges again.=) There is so much to be thankful for.
