Hector’s Story

Site created on April 30, 2019

Wednesday, April 24, Hector was helping take down a tree, when he fell and suffered a skull fracture. He was immediately airlifted to the Birmingham PICU where he has been sedated and on a ventilator.

We are using this site to keep our family and friends updated in one place as it gets difficult to make sure everyone gets the latest updates. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement and all of your kindness through this difficult time. Thank you for visiting.

Journal entry by Gabrielle Caucutt

We give thanks!  Today, at St. John's Anglican Church, we were joined by family & friends to celebrate Hector's recovery.  We read the "Te Deum" from the Book of Common Prayer (1928, pg. 10), and rejoiced in God's great goodness & mercy.

Gareth made a cake to share...only crumbs were left! Afterwards, our friends, Doug & Cindy Orcutt joined us for a walk down Memory Lane - we ate lunch at Wayback Burger, and toured the lobby and hallways at Children's Hospital.  It was nice to visit, and not have to stay any longer than we wanted.  We even got some fun pictures!
