Hello Friends, 

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! 

I'm delighted to say that I had my final reconstructive surgery (outpatient) a few weeks ago and it was a breeze! I felt awesome the very next day-well enough to enjoy a day of fine dining & shopping with my Mom in Miami.  I got another CA 125 blood test while I was there, and the numbers are even lower than before, so I'm thrilled to say that I'm still cancer-free. 

Dr. Harry Salinas, my plastic surgeon at Miami Cancer Institute (Baptist Health) did a truly terrific job. I am good as new; the only difference is my mop of short, curly hair! 

Game plan: I'll be tested every 3 months for another year, for ovarian cancer, and afterward less frequently, if all goes well. There are a few other things that will be monitored because of my BRCA2 positive status, but since my most recent surgery is a wrap, I've done everything I possibly can to stay strong and healthy, and I'm feeling positive-it's time to get back to just enjoying life. I'm feeling absolutely fantastic. 

It's a tremendous blessing to be back in my normal groove: working, enjoying time with my husband & dogs, and planning for the future. I'm looking forward to Christmas, and there are already plenty of gifts under the tree: health, strength, energy, and life itself.
