Journal entry by Ryleigh Lefever —
Happy January everyone! I can’t believe we are almost in February! These last 7 months have weirdly been long and also flown by at the same time. I wanted to give you my latest update and ask all of you prayer warriors to pray some specific requests. I went to Hershey this past Wednesday and saw the cardiologist that was my doctor in the ICU. I have not seen him since then because I have a cardiologist in Lancaster. However, he is the expert on cardiac amyloidosis and they wanted me to see him. Long story short, we need to pray that my heart gets more elastic. I reminded him that the amyloidosis and multiple myeloma are in normal range now so it gives my heart the opportunity to heal. This is the main reason why I am holding onto fluid. Because my heart is not elastic it cannot take in fluid and then push to kidneys. This causes me not to be able to do “normal “ life… enjoying long walks, hiking, etc I have a hard time breathing. My stomach distends depending on fluids. My legs and feet hold fluid and it makes it difficult. I have 5 more shots. Arg, not gonna lie …its tough mentally going each time.
Prayer requests:
my heart would become more elastic
my heart would be strong and go back to normal - complete healing.
Amyloids and multiple myeloma will go to ZERO and stay there!
Endurance to finish shots and not have to get anymore.
No dizziness or lightheaded
Bone marrow biopsy in June will be totally clear.
Praises:
I do feel like my fluids are getting better slowly. I have seen a difference between this month and last.
I’m working part time (so thankful for LCCS)and enjoying getting out
I am thankful and grateful for everyone and feel good emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
That the chemo worked and my numbers look great!
The Dr. said he’s been surprised several times with me and I told him I am going to keep on surprising him because of what God is doing! God did not give me such a strong will for nothing! 😭 thank you for all your prayers, support and love!
