Journal entry by Shana Peyser —
Hello friends and family of our lovely Sally Ann Eck!
As some of you know, she has been suffering with a nasty synovial (spinal) cyst causing horrible pain in her leg and keeping her down for the count. Luckily, she was able to get emergency surgery two weeks ago that involved drilling into her vertebrae and removing the cyst and she is feeling so much better, but she is still having some pain and is needing to be pretty careful for the next four to six weeks to allow her spine to heal back up safely. Her rules are no bending, no twisting, no lifting, and she will be off work until January. This means that she does need a bit of help with meals for the family, light housework, visits so she doesn't get lonely (you know how she loves a snuggle). Her main concern is cooking, since that involves shopping (which is hard due to the lifting restrictions, plus she hasn't quite been cleared to drive), but if you wanted to coordinate with her to help with cleaning the bathroom or some other deep cleaning project, that would also be appreciated.
Since Sally and her family have some dietary restrictions (and let's be honest, they're a little picky and Sally hates leftovers), she would probably really prefer digital gift cards to delivery services (door dash or postmates) or nearby restaurants rather than your lovely home cooked casserole (sorry!). Her email address is learnheartwork@gmail.com and her number is 503-970-0458. This website is also a great way to coordinate.
As a heads up, donations on this site go to the site itself, which is definitely a worthy cause, but if you want your donations to go to our Sal, you will need to connect with her directly!
xoxo

A $25 donation to CaringBridge powers a site like Sally's for two weeks. Will you make a gift to help ensure that this site stays online for them and for you?
