Hannah’s Story

Site created on April 25, 2023

I have been so blessed to have so many people who love and care for me and I greatly appreciate all of the support that everyone has offered. However, as you know I am an introvert and updating several people all the time can get exhausting and I am already exhausted from the health stuff. I thought that this would be a good way to update everyone at once and be able to consolidate updating to one portion of my day so that the rest of my day can be as normal as possible.  Please feel free to share the link with others who may be interested via text or email. Please do not share on social media, only with individuals. They can then send me a request and I can approve it.  Again, I appreciate everyone caring and loving me so well.

Journal entry by Hannah Benjamin

Happy Birthday to me! I am being spoiled rotten here. The pulmonology and ICU docs got me a gluten free birthday cake and all came in to sing happy birthday. My nurse yesterday gave me a manicure and the nurse today took me out of the room to the gift shop. I got some beauty products and she gave me an exfoliating treatment. The night nurse made a sign and my awesome family sent balloons. But the best birthday gift is that the surgery is finally scheduled for 7:30am on Friday! So much to be thankful for today and praising God that I'm in a place where they care for me so well and go above and beyond. This never would have happened at EMMC (except maybe in the dialysis unit). Mom and Dad and Joshua will be down Thursday and it will be good to see all of them. Cannot praise God enough for all the amazing people he has brought into my life throughout this process and I have every confidence that this is exactly where I'm supposed to be right now. As always thanks for your love and prayers and don't feel sorry for me being in the hospital on my birthday, I am being spoiled rotten 😊
