Journal entry by Laura Booram —
Hey there! Just wanted to provide a quick update on our end. Harper is officially five months out from being done with all her treatment.
Tomorrow at 7:30 AM, she’ll have her port removed. She’s feeling really anxious about this as the last time was just really hard on her so I’m certain there is some trauma around it. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as we lead up to that and for the procedure.
So excited to get to watch her jumping in natural bodies of water this summer! Other than that, she’s doing really well. She played two soccer games yesterday and did awesome. Right now she’s having her typical side effects of some hair loss from her last round of IV chemo. But thankfully, she only has one more round of that chemo.
We got to go to DC and Ocean City for spring break. We were gifted a week stay at a cute little place on the water in ocean city by an organization that offers respite places! It was such a gift and we were blown away by the generosity! We also got to spend a few fun days in DC- see some sites, catch a DC United game and eat some yummy food!
She’s really loved school this year and has made some really great friends. Incredibly grateful for the re-entering back into our new normal and the beautiful things ahead for her. We can feel my Dad with us each day and I know he will be along side her tomorrow am.
