Harley’s Story

Site created on January 13, 2024

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

I’m Krystle, Harley’s sister, and I will be updating this page for his prayer warriors to know the needs of prayer each day. Below is Harley’s story of how we got here.

On Tuesday, January 9th, Harley had a seizure at work. In the ambulance ride to the hospital he had two more seizures, upon arrival at the hospital he had another and then a fifth while in his room at the ER.

They did a CT scan and found a lot of blood on his brain and then found the aneurysm that ruptured.

He was then transported to OU Medical in OKC and placed in the Neuro ICU, where he will be for at least one month. They put in a drain that night and he was placed on the schedule for an operation on Wednesday, January 10th.

Unfortunately that first surgery was not successful as his aneurysm was different than expected. His surgeon created another course of action with a 2nd surgery on Thursday, January 11th, and putting in a new drain that will irrigate while draining too. He is the first in the state to have this drain.

His 2nd surgery went as well as it could have gone and it’s a daily crawl.

He is still on a ventilator, but family is there daily to be with him and talk to him.

Harley is in the best place in Oklahoma with a team surrounding him - both in and out of scrubs. He is a fighter and while we have a long road ahead. We are just thankful for each day that he is here and showing some progress.

Thank you for visiting his page and for the support and prayers. My family and I can’t thank everyone enough for the calls, texts, food delivery, prayers, and just everything.
