Journal
Hi everyone, Hannah here! After 41 days, I was finally discharged and am happily enjoying the comfort of my little family. Surrounded by cards, flowers (yes Evan did a pretty good job keeping them alive!), goodies, and 2 cats on my lap, I’ve never had more appreciation and gratitude for the support system I have experienced during this journey. Some days the emotional exhaustion was worse than the physical pain and it was on those days that I would be comforted by the prayers and well wishes from all of you. That was some of the best medicine (okay maybe tied with dilautid). From the bottom of my heart, I cannot thank you all enough for taking a moment out of your day to think of me or send comfort to Evan. I never expected to have my entire lease on life changed at just 28 but I can now look back and realize truly how precious life is. I hope it doesn’t take a pulmonary embolism for you to have that same realization, but if you have breath in your lungs, life in your chest, be thankful! I know I am. For now, I’ll be taking some much needed time to soak up the comforts of home and continue to heal. I look forward to getting to see everyone and thank you in person.... from a social distance and especially once we are all vaccinated - #immunodeficientprobs. Again, the best way to help is to make an appointment with your local blood bank and donating what you can regularly. Donated blood, plasma, and platelets have literally saved my life and I’m so grateful to the strangers out there that donated. For now, accept a virtual hug and my most sincere thank you for your support. Sending love to you all. I’m so grateful to have each and every one of you in my life.
