This past month has allowed for a lot of healing and change in a good direction. I had my first follow up scan since restarting the oral chemo and it all is looking good! The spot on the lung they are watching stayed the same size, so the medicine is doing its job of containing it.
Most of my odd and different side affects have gone away or resolved. We have had to change up some additional medication but for the last week it feels like all the medicines and symptoms have balanced out. I had a bad bout of nausea about a week and a half ago that lasted the week and ended up quite dehydrated, but was able to get some fluids and get back to myself. I am thankful for the doctors and some lifestyle adjustments to allow for me to feel "normal" again. The biggest side affect is still tiredness, which if I have a nap in the afternoon I feel refreshed and can move along with the rest of my day. We have had family come and help weekly or when Marshall is busy with work and it's been a blessing to just have someone keep me accountable or help with daily chores and tasks.
Sullivan finished his wrestling season and I was able to attend all but one of his tournaments this season. It was great to watch him learn, build friendships, and develop in the sport. He is sad it is over but ready for the next sports seasons - swimming and t-ball.
I hope to go back to work next week at a part time basis, get back to a little normalcy and get out of the house a bit more.
I will continue to have regular blood work to be sure all of my levels and internal organs are healthy and operating correctly. I will have a check up with my oncology nurse in 1 month and then with my oncologist in 2 months with a scan to see how things are doing then.
We are thankful for the time allowed for healing and I will continue to take the time needed to listen to my body, heal and keep getting better! We are thankful for all the thoughts, prayers, treats, meals, donations and more.
Until next time,
Haley
