Well here we are 2 years since diagnosis and 15 months since finishing treatment, Hailey is growing into her “tween years” and she is strong and healthy. She started middle school and is enjoying her classes (especially art) and making new friends and so thankful for lunch with her bestie Julia!! It is quite a transition and adjustment for any kid but you put cancer and covid in the equation and I am just amazed everyday at how far she has come. I am beyond proud of her for working through some her struggles with anxiety and facing those fears head on!
We had a bit of a scare with COVID back in early September and Hailey did test positive but her case was very mild and we count our blessings everyday that it wasn’t worse and is behind us! Her quarantine caused her follow up at CHOA to be pushed out 3 weeks so she went today for scans, lab work and check up with her oncologist. Everything looked great! They did x-rays this time and will pick back up with MRI and CT in January. We are so thankful for a clear check up and that Hailey gets to go through holiday season without having more follow ups!
