"Gwendolyn - former 22 and 2, current 15 months, day of life 459.” Adjusted age - 11 months.

Gwenny was seen for her 15 month old well child visit yesterday. She got two shots at that appointment. She got a fever shortly after which we attributed to the shots. Throughout the day, she got progressively sicker. By midnight, she was congested, had a cough, fever was still 102.4, and her oxygen saturations were just hanging out in the high 80s. At that point we decided it was time for a trip to the ER.

Our poor baby is just miserable.

Her respiratory panel came back that she has COVID. It’s likely the shots today just threw her little body into full blown attack mode.

Since being in the ER, she’s needed a little oxygen support to keep her saturations up. Because of this, she is being admitted to the Peds unit.

My heart just breaks for her. We were so hopeful we were going to make it though her first winter home with no serious illnesses. We have no idea where she came into contact with COVID as no one we know has it.

We nearly made it a whole year at home with no major illnesses or hospital stays. I hope her illness and stay are very short lived and she starts feeling better soon.

So, if y’all could just send positive thoughts, prayers, juju, whatever you believe in, our way - we’d be thankful. 💕

[If anything in here is incoherent, I’ll blame it on the fact that I’ve been awake for nearly 24 hours. We are ready to move up to Peds so there is a crib for Gwenny to lay so we can close our eyes for a few minutes. 🥲]
