Extragonadal choriocarcinoma in males is a rare malignancy with a poor prognosis. A young age at diagnosis and primary tumor site in the brain were the independent prognostic factors.
The primary mass is mediastinum with metastases in both lungs and the brain. Since January 2023, he has undergone eight rounds of chemo and whole brain radiation. He is currently receiving high dose chemo with stem cell replacement.
We are thankful for Dr. Minniti's diagnosis and transfer to Penn where Guy is in the caring hands of Dr. Vaughn who specializes in this cancer, and Dr. Stadtmauer who brings the big guns to Guy's treatment plan. We are in awe of our nurses, our housekeepers, our food service staff, and the red coats who remember us and keep us going.
We appreciate the friends and family who have stepped up with both food and prayer for our souls...
A $25 donation to CaringBridge powers a site like Guy's for two weeks. Will you make a gift to help ensure that this site stays online for them and for you?
