Journal entry by Maggie Bryngelson —
Gus has had a tough week. Extreme fatigue and hand and body aches along with nausea and difficulty swallowing. This was expected and the fatigue should start to resolve in the next few weeks. The nausea has subsided somewhat, but the difficulty swallowing has him using only instant breakfasts for nutrition. He sleep well and takes lots of naps during the day.
On the positive side, the tumor on his ear has shrunk substantially. His ear still looks red and inflamed, but the tumor is about 1/3 the size it originally was. He is very happy about this development.
His attitude remains positive and he is looking forward to feeling better in the coming weeks.
