** Let us start by saying #1 we are all glad that Joseph is going to be ok.  Second, that Ashley and Joseph really didn't want to have a fundraising campaign, but we convinced them that they need to accept whatever help people want to give.  Whether it's funding what's headed their way, a meal, or help around their farm... they needed to say yes.  So they have agreed to allow us to help them.***

Here's what's going on.

Joseph Guidry is a hands on daddy to four of the sweetest kids you'll ever meet, fun loving husband, active duty US Marine, and 4 Told Horsemen MC member.  On Saturday, November 23, 2019, Joseph was involved in a motorcycle accident and suffered severe injuries to both arms.  He was initially taken to the hospital in Morehead City and was later transferred to Vidant (Pitt) in Greenville, North Carolina.  On November 25th, Joseph had extensive surgery to repair both of his wrists and his right elbow.  He now has pins and rods in his arms.  He is unable to use either of his hands for the time being and has a very long road to recovery ahead of him.  Joseph and Ashley have a small farm in addition to Joesph's employment with the Marine Corps.  They are going to need a lot of help to keep their family farm going and to keep up with the therapy and follow up appointments once Joseph gets home.  Those that know Joseph know he isn't one to sit around and do nothing so this recovery process is going to be a tough one.  To give him some independence, Ashley is trying to update some things to "smart" technology so that Joseph can operate the television and maybe a few of the lights using Google smart devices. Joseph is not allowed to lift anything heavier than a cell phone and the doctors heavily discouraged he even try to operate his phone for the time being.  He needs to let his hands and arms heal. Joseph is going to want to get back to playing with his kids and cooking that kickin Gumbo he's famous for and in order to do that, they're going to need some help.  There's an awful lot on Ashley and the last thing she needs to worry about is how to set up a smart home or how to pay for it.  They're going to be going back and forth to appointments and that's going to be a lot of gas!  Anything will help and they are extremely grateful.

To give you a little tidbit on the kind of person Joseph is, he's actually the stepdad to their oldest two children but you would never know it because he doesn't treat the older two any differently than he does the younger two.  I've been friends with Joseph and Ash since 2012 and when my daughter was scared to death to try the swim test at the New Bern Aquatic Center, Joseph took her over to the swim test area and walked along side her encouraging her the entire time and SHE PASSED!  He's always been that way with everyone!  As for Ashley, she's good as gold too!  She once drove from NC to FL to with her four children, when their youngest was a baby so that she could take care of my children for a few days when we were in a jam!  I could go on and on about how these two would give the shirts off their backs to anyone that needed it... but if you know Joseph or Ashley, you already know that!
