Journal

I'm halfway through chemo infusions. Infusion 4 was February 1st. There is a common cycle I go through with regards to symptoms. Day 1 and 2 I feel pretty good but I have to watch my heart rate as it can skyrocket quickly with no warning. By Day 6 I am feeling nausea usually until Day 10 or 11. Day 10 or 11 I have gas and other fun bathroom problems. (Sorry, TMI!) Then after Day 14 I'm usually pretty good until Day 21 when the next infusion and whole cycle begins again.

My blood counts have been pretty good. Not as good as a normal, healthy person but better than average.

Here's the good news though. The tumors are shrinking as evidenced by exams and ultrasounds. The next exciting appointment is the breast MRI which is on February 21st. That will really show results.

In other news, I did finally give up the battle with my hair. It was a step by step process starting with cutting my hair short right after Christmas. Then as it got thinner I colored it pink for fun! Finally there was a very apparent bald or very thin spot at my crown so I decided it was time to lose the hair. I have a bit of stubble but that's it. I'm working on getting used to head covers and wigs. If I get to stop chemo by June it will start growing back after that.

I also returned to work after Jan 15. Work has been going just fine. They have been amazing taking care of me and my needs and working around me. It's so nice to be around my coworkers and great being up on the Front End of Gig Harbor Costco. They even started a day to wear pink on Sundays to support Breast Cancer research! I can't say enough good things about management. Thank you all!

I'll definitely update after the MRI results are back. For now you can see my hair progression in the pictures.

Thank you all for prayers and thoughts. They are SO appreciated!
