Griffin’s Story

Site created on November 8, 2018

On Saturday October 27, 2018 Griffin’s life changed forever. He was involved in a car accident that resulted in a severe (Traumatic Brain Injury TBI).

Megan here, Griffin’s older sister. I wanted to make a journal site to keep everyone up to date on Griffin’s recovery. I will start by posting all of my Facebook updates regarding Griffin’s accident and recovery, and update this journal site from there. CaringBridge is a great health journey site. Before I went back to graduate school to become a CRNA (certified registered nurse anesthetist), I was an ICU nurse in a pediatric ICU that specialized in trauma and solid organ transplant. Many of our transplant patients would visit the PICU often, many of them and their parents would keep CaringBridge journals. I never would have thought I would be making a CaringBridge journal for my baby brother 😓.

Thank you to all of our family and friends who are reading this. You mean the world to us. Your prayers, positive thoughts and kind words have helped us through this difficult journey. Griffin’s healing journey will be a long, tough road. It already has been. We appreciate and love all of you. ❤️

Griffin had the EVD (ventricular drain) placed yesterday.  The procedure went well and he is back in the ICU.  We are hoping that next week the new permanent shunt will be placed.  Thank you all for your continued support 🙏🏻
