Greg Wood Memorial Service: February 3
THANK YOU to everyone who helped our family along this 15-month journey. When we got the original diagnosis, the outlook for Greg was expected to be 5 months or less. But with your prayers, optimism, and good results from treatment, we got much more than that.
I am forever grateful to the many, many people that held us up in prayer.
I also want to wholeheartedly thank everyone who followed our journey, reached out with food, walked our dog, sent cards, took Woody to breakfast or lunch, dropped off a surprise plant, brought Stella or wine to Val, kept an eye on Sam and was ready to listen when needed, shoveled our walk or plowed our driveway, and continued to ask us to do stuff (even though we had way more "no's" than "yes's"). There truly are no words that I can find to describe how blessed I feel for the love that surrounded Woody, Sam and myself during this difficult time.
For those that are interested, the links to the tribute slide show and the memorial service are at the top of this post.
This is the last post on this site for Greg. However, I want to open my door to anyone who unfortunately has to walk a difficult journey. Having navigated a lot of territory, including clinical trials, alternative treatments, symptom management, and tests of faith, I'd be honored to assist and share anything I may have learned along the way that could make the journey a little easier.
As a lasting thought -- I'd like to leave you with Greg's favorite toast --
"Not above you, not below you, but with YOU."
