I mid-July I had acute pain in my throat, lower right jaw, and my mandibular joint. I contacted my General Practitioner which started me on a journey to discover that I have tonsil cancer in my right tonsil. Since confirming with a CT scan, pet scan and biopsy, I have met with many helpful and caring medical professionals. I am very thankful that the prognosis for the type of cancer I have is very good. Since finding out I have cancer, I explored the option of getting the cancer surgically removed, which was finally ruled out last week after meeting with a top-surgeon and we have decided to go the more tradition (and proven) route of Chemo-radiation. Last Thursday I began the first of 7 rounds of chemo (which I will receive weekly on Thursdays) and as of today have completed 3 of 35 radiation treatments given daily M-F for 7 weeks.

Nancy's surgery went well! March 14, 2024

This is just a quick update to say that Nancy's surgery today went very well and I should be getting a call soon to bring the car around and take her home. 
Your prayers have been so helpful and welcome. The surgeon actually prayed for us and the procedure in her pre-op visit. We've been very calm and peaceful this morning and expect that her recovery process will go well. 
The surgery took out 3 lymph nodes, along with the cancer mass during the procedure, but we won't have any pathology reports until later next week.
