Journal entry by Sara Traylor

Hi Friends. We've had a very busy summer!
Greg is doing excellent! He graduated from physical therapy which focused on his leg. He has full function of his leg and good strength and balance. He gets occasional "lazy foot" when he's tired. He's continuing in occupational therapy once a week to keep working on his fingers and hand. He has full function of his arm, hand, and fingers and is able to lift 25 pounds. His grasp and fine motor skill is weak in his hand and he really has to focus when he needs his arm or hand to work. In other words, he doesn't have automatic fluid movement yet. Some days are plateau days where nothing new happens and other days are improvement days where he resumes prior functioning. He was cleared to resume driving in July which made him very happy.
My right knee went out in July and I discovered I'm bone on bone in both knees. Rest, ice, compression, elevation and Cortisone injections for the win!
I spoke at a nurse educator conference in Breckenridge in July. Greg came along and relaxed while I was busy. We had a fun day in Denver before coming home. It was a nice get away for both of us.
We've also had some fun days with our granddaughter Bella.
Greg was hoping to be back on the smoker this month but his body is saying 'not yet'. He has been making great white sauce on special order--contact him via text or Facebook to place your order. 😋
We so appreciate our community supporters, customers, coworkers, friends, and family and feel your love, care, and support.
Lastly, our pickleball friends are holding a fundraiser for Greg. All are invited to join us for this fun event.
