Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Before I share Greg’s story I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the love, support, and prayers. Our family will be forever grateful for each and everyone of you!!!

About 5 weeks ago Greg noticed an uncomfortable feeling  in his stomach & thought he might have pulled a muscle from working out. The pain continued to progress & traveled to his back, abdomen, and groin area. After several trips to the doctor, normal lab work, and X-rays Greg couldn’t take the pain & went to the ER. It was discovered on the CT scan that Greg has rectal cancer with lymph node involvement. The next step was a colonoscopy, but we were told it would be a minimum 2 week wait to have  one locally. Greg’s boss was able to get Greg a colonoscopy in 2 days in Utah. The GI doc found the tumor & was confident it was malignant, but we would need to wait for the pathology. When we arrived home my boss directly called Dr. AJ an oncologist & Greg was immediately a patient. Each day Greg’s pain was increasing. The next step was Greg needed an MRI which was scheduled for last Wednesday. Greg tried his hardest but couldn’t lay flat to get it done. On Thursday Dr. AJ called us & decided to directly admit Greg to the hospital to help Greg with pain control & run all the tests that needed to be done.  Friday Greg had another scope & the MRI. The Utah pathology came back & it is a malignant tumor. Greg still remains in the hospital  & will have a chemo port placed tomorrow, PET scan Wednesday & depending on MRI results treatment will be starting ASAP.

Greg needs all the prayers he can get. Prayers for pain control, minimal/no spread of cancer, strength for the long road ahead of him. Greg is strong & ready for the fight. Today Vince and I came up with our family motto that we will be saying everyday….WE ARE STRONG, WE ARE FIGHTERS, WE’VE GOT THIS!!!!!

Love you all,
Kristin

Journal entry by Kristin Sinigaglia

I know it’s been awhile & I am sorry for that. All my time has been spent caring for Greg & the boys. I’ve read everyone’s text/messages & just want to say thank you for all the support. I'm so sorry if I haven’t responded, but please know we appreciate you all.
Once again a lot has happened in the last month & Greg has been through so much including a 8 day hospital stay just recently. Greg is VERY TIRED & WEAK, but still continues to fight with everything he has. We continue to ask for prayers that Greg’s body continues to let him fight this horrible disease. Our family is exhausted & absolutely heart broken to see Greg struggle with the daily fight. To say we are extremely proud of Greg & his will to push through all this is an understatement. Through this entire nightmare Greg remains SO patient, kind, loving & giving…..typical Greg, a true gem.
