Journal

These past weeks have been times I will carry with me for a very long time.  Last Thursday, May 30, 2019 was the beginning of a life celebration of a partner in crime that knew me better than anyone on this planet.  Uncharted waters for me, as well as my pal, Greg.  I never dreamed a celebration of life could be so full of different emotions.

Leading up to this celebration, my daughters were there for me, ALL the way.(and still are)  Annie being a night owl, joined me with the night shift. Night time is always better with a partner. Annie also keeps people smiling or laughing. Julie was allowed a full night of beauty rest because she had head chef duty, along with keeping things tidy and organized. She also was attentive to the needs of others, quietly, on the sidelines.  Grace.  Our eldest granddaughter gave her papa Greg acts of kindness with some of his favorite things. Chocolate cake, her gorgeous smile, her petite hand to hold.  Grace was with her papa Greg during all her free time.  She embraced her papa Greg and I with complete love and courage.  Grace wants to be a nurse.  She has what it takes to become an exceptional one.  Heidi made a fantastic soup that we all enjoyed.  We were a great crew.  Our courageous guy felt the love we have for him, through our touch and blessing whispers.

The cards and handwritten notes mean SO much. I have 2 recently written notes on my bed stand. I read both of them every night.

I am sharing a couple of photos with this final journal entry. On Sunday, June 2nd I attended our eldest grandsons graduation from Park High School.  Brady made us proud. Papa wanted to attend. I believe he was there and had the best seat in the house. On Monday, June 3rd, our new spotted baby girl was born. She is doing well and is a keeper.

Please be patient with me as I address each beautiful card and tribute we have received. The strength within me is because of all of you that touched both Greg and I during his final journey on earth.

With complete gratitude and love,
Mary Jo
