Journal entry by Michelle Pickle-McMinnis

Then last Thursday 7/30/20 while waiting to have the debridement of his wound. The nephrologist comes in and explains that they were consulted and his kidney functions were off, and now the kidneys were starting to fail. The hospitalists comes in and says the she is sorry she meant to be able to talk to us first, and talk to us and explain.  That they were going to start some new medicine and try some other things but would most likely have to start dialysis.  In the meantime a tech wakes him up in the middle of the night, he doesn’t do well being woke up in the middle of the night after 1st going to sleep. Well that tried taking his vitals, his blood pressure was extremely low, they all panicked for no reason.  Then put him on a blood pressure medicine the next day called midorine. This meds side effect is low heart rate. It’s had the opposite effect on him, but every insist this is not possible. So after crazy heart rates going up and down.  Finally the put him on a different blood pressure medicine and started weening him off the  1st on, took the last dose of the pill today thank goodness.
