Journal entry by Greg Donovan —
Hey Everyone,
The past week and a half have been good. Praise God. I started cardiac rehab (codeword for exercise), walking for about 15 minutes on a treadmill, doing steps for 15 minutes, and doing light weights and stretches. I am working out 2-3 times a week at the rehab clinic in Wyoming. I enjoy the workout, especially since I could barely walk 5 minutes prior to surgery. It is weird not having chest pain while walking, but I am happy and feeling extremely blessed.
I had my first post-op appointment with my cardiac team yesterday. It was a good meeting. Leah, the nurse practitioner for my surgeon was surprised to see my progress and was pleased with the healing.
All in all, things are going well. I do have a couple of items I would like continued prayer for if you are thinking of it. Melissa has been non-stop since the 9th when I went into surgery, she has been there the whole way. She needs prayer for renewal and rest. I could use some prayer for some sore muscles, swelling in the legs, and continued healing. Furthermore, I am starting to look for work again. Many of you know I have been unemployed since the end of March. Please pray that I will be able to find rewarding work soon and that it will be conducive to my recovery.
I would like to thank everyone for their continued prayers, meals, and practical help. We are very blessed and appreciate having you all in our lives.
Thank you,
Greg and Melissa
