Journal entry by Emmie Huffman —
Hey everyone- this is Gray!
My family and I felt like today would be a good day to post an update. Today is the one year anniversary of my accident. First off, I want everyone to know how much I appreciate the overwhelming support and care that all of you have shown me through my journey.
For those of you that I don't see regularly, here's what's been happening. From my last update that my family posted, a lot has gone on. I started out doing therapy in Boone. However, the doctors felt that I could get more in-depth therapy specifically for a TBI in Winston Salem. My mom and I made many trips up and down the mountain and to Starbucks (for my mom), who knows how many times! I buckled down and was able to finish my therapy by the end of the year. In January, I was able to start working again at Alray Tire and move back into my apartment. Since January, I have been working at the shop full time. I feel good and things are going great.
There is a long list of people I would like to thank. First, I would like to thank all of y'all who are reading this. Your prayers, positive thoughts, kind words, and acts mean so much to me. I am blessed to have so many good friends. I am so appreciative of all of the doctors, nurses, and teams at Johnson City Medical Center and the Sticht Center in Winston Salem. Most of all, I would like to thank all of my family, for helping my mom, dad, sister, and me get through it.
God truly answered the prayers!
