It was a long day. I went in at 9am for my injection and then hung around the hospital until noon to have the scan completed. I had a moment in the scanner and broke down in tears. The tech was very sweet and talked me down. She let me know I should receive results in 48-72 hrs.
Not sure if it was the tears or what…. But not even 4 hours after the scan I got a call from my Oncology NP that the results had been read twice and that everything looks good! No Mets! My marrow was a bit fuzzy, but they said that was normal since I was still doing chemo.
I didn’t realize I was holding my breath until after I hung up. I had been talking myself down and praying endlessly (while also mentally preparing for the worst)…. And now I can breathe again.
A cancer journey is like a rollercoaster (from Hell). The highs are high…. But there are many lows and many many moments of trying to catch your breath and prepare for the next turn.
So thankful for all who have sent me prayers and love and good vibes. I can’t tell you how much it means to me.
