Surprise! On the first day of Christmas break we have started our new adventure. I unexpectedly took a short trip to the hospital where I discovered for what we think is the last four or so years cancer has been growing in my brain. During this time, Crestwood Middle School, my churches, the beautiful people of Norfolk, and Virginia Beach, and friends from long ago have embraced me with their love. Working with the phenomenal doctors at Duke Medical Center and my incredible Chesapeake Doctors, we begin chemotherapy and radiation starting January the 16th. As my challenges continue I look forward to your help for myself and my family. I am already overwhelmed by your love and kindness, I have never seen so much of the kindness of God from every avenue in my life.
